Thought I'd try paying more attention to the 'similar thread' item usually found in a box below a post (or maybe the initial post in a thread). Picked

this one (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2295) as my first test. I'm having difficulty relating the content of the original post here, with the contents of the four items listed in the "similar thread" links.

Don't know what the *keyword*, or *topic*, or *matching* tipoffs are for relational links to a post, butt this particular thread didn't seem to me to make the grade. I would assume this function is in the program portion of the website-content and is expected to ocassionally be less than perfect.

Just thought I'd mention this, for what reason I don't know!! :o

BTW - the entire site is great! Thanks to all involved with making it so.

Obviously, your example tagged onto the word passenger in the original thread's title, and pulled up what it thought was related threads (others with passenger in the title). They may or may not relate to the original thread, but it looks to me like a simple matching algorithm.

I imagine that it occasionally brings up some quite amusing "matches".
