The steering damper is a pretty ez replacement. I'm about due at 52,000 miles.

I am looking at HyperPro (http://www.hyperprousa.com/catalog.php?cat=Dampers&make=BMW&model=98&model_name=K1200%20(GT/LT/RS)%20(OEM%20replacement)%2099-) as a replacement. They have been endorsed by a number of members here on the site. Check them out before you pull the trigger on an OEM replacement.

Just bought a Hyperpro active for $269 at ExoticSportbike. It is on backorder and will be here on the 17th, a day after I start my 10 day trip!
