I live in the CCR area and wanted to mention a couple of places to eat. You need to hit PECKERS at happy hour or just in the evening. Another Green Beret that was in Viet Nam with me is an entertainer there on the week ends...puts on a great show. Good food and reasonable for the area.
If you can get a driver.....see who is at "Toad Cove" and get tickets......lots of fun and right on the water.
For an expensive meal but one your sweetie will thank you for....."The Potted Steer" or the "Blue Heron." They are owned by the same family but both great and high priced restaurants. A good BBQ lunch is at the "Half Sauced." Larger portions than Bandara's and cheaper.
The best steak or prime rib I have EVER had (except maybe the one I had in Gillette, Wyoming at the Chop House) is at a place called "Michaels." It is right down the road from Tan Tara. It is a small restaurant...you can eat outside or inside...overlooks a beautiful cove and has elegant service and good drinks on the veranda....although in August...an early dinner in MO can get a bit warm. No reservations accepted so show up early or late.
