Hi all,
In our part of the world it is fairly common on the morning ride into work to have fairly heavy patches of fog after the clear nights before the sun burns through and makes a fantastic day. I am looking to add some rear red fog lights to the bike (why dont they come with them the cars do?) to help try to prevent a rear end shunt in the commute.

Just wondered if anyone had done this and what they had used. I know I can just buy a car set and bolt on but was looking for something that may be as bright but a bit smaller and be able to blend in with the bike to still look smart and no to clunky.

thanks in advance
Mike

PIAA Powersports has some new LED Units that may work for you.

I believe that some of the riders across the pond,

I think it may have been Ari "the Finland farkle freak" that has already done something like this,
you might want to post this in the European section also.

Hello Mike !

In Europ some of us have used the 20 W filament on the center light bulb as fog light via switch. Some have conected it to use it as an extra brake light.

I dont now if the US bikes has the same center light, but i think it is worth checking it on your bike.

Regards from Sweden

Thanks Raffe I will check that out and see if it is an option. Will also look into the Piaa suggestion. Just want to try and make myself a little bit safer in the bad weather.

This is what i did, both front and rear they are LED lights from PIAA and I got a better price from a local vendor then from the website. even with local tax

The round lower units are the Nightcutters from www.saeng.com H3 bulb one is a fog light and one a driving light

The light bars are 36 watts each 3 watts/LED
