as you can see from my post title i need help, im currently in the market for a new helmet and am considering the bmw system 5 flip front.

question is i would like to know the pros and cons of this particular lid before i open the wallet and shell out £280.00 for it

what works for me may not for you or the other way around.
The only thing that has been agreed upon regarding helmets of any brand is:

TRY IT ON BEFORE YOU BUY.

as you can buy a System 5 and mentioned the price in GBP I will assume you are in the UK. I have had a Schoei and a System 4 and presently have an Arai QuantumF and a System 5 size 61/62. The 5 is the quietest of the lot and is my helmet of choice. I will allways have a full face for winter (wear glasses and need a breath gaurd to stop them getting misty) but there are so many things I like about flip fronts that I will allways have one. Also try Schuberth (who make the BMW helmet) and the new Schoei Multitronic.

If you are passing and think it will fit you can borrow mine - and if you give me enough warning I may even try and clean it ;-/
