Any comments/advice on Cyclesport Ultra II airmwsh Kavlar

Has anyone had any experience with the Ultra II airmesh kevlar? I need to replace some Olympias and want to go with Kevlar. I have read some of the posts concerning Cyclesports customer service (or lack of service) - but if they sell a superior product it maybe worth a shot.

Does anyone else sell a Kevlar product??

I think they are the best protection you can buy and the worst customer service you could imagine. If you have to have anything made for you (there is not much in stock/on the rack), I can offer one piece of advice. Send them a coat or pants that fit like you like and let them use it as a template. If you send measurements, be prepared for major hassles.

I'm beginning my 2nd season with the Ultra Mesh suit. The only issue that I had with customer service was due to my own misunderstanding. They are not really custom. They try to match the off the rack sizes with your measurements. If you require custom modifications, it will cost a little extra.

I have had the AMK suit for 3 years. If you haven't seen the fabric it is very similar to the BMW Air Tex panels. IMO this provides the highest level of protection of any mesh suit. In addition it is a summer suit that is actually available in colors other than black. It is well made and has large areas covered by armor. They will do some customizing for you. Things I don't like, kevlar is stiffer than Cordura (nylon). It will not break in, the stiffness is an inherent property of the kevlar (you could not make a suit out of pure kevlar as it would be too unyielding for comfort). Their armor does not readily mold as they advertise. The knee section felt like 2 dinner plates hinged at my knee joint. I replaced it with T-Pro Extreme that I cut to size. The other locations are not a problem. I removed the chest armor from the jacket and the air flow noticeably improved. I will also remove the thigh armor and have them put in hip armor. ETA for delivery are fantasies, you'll get it when you get it. Order it WAY before you need it. I second the thought about sending in a garment as a template. I ordered the gore tex liner when I ordered the jacket and the sleeves on the liner were 6 inches too short! All things being said the level of protection it appears to provide makes it unique. I would skip the liner and use regular rain gear over it. Stopping when it starts to rain and taking off your gear to zip in liners and then putting everything on is quite comical. The one summer outfit that I have tried that would make me switch is the Rukka Air Power line. These are the most comfortable MC jackets I have ever tried on, but the price is several levels past ridiculous (although I did buy my wife one and she is very happy with it). Good luck.
