Okay, I have read numerous posts on this list about how good the HID conversion is and I have wanted to do it. I got in on the group buy and had the light setting on my shelf for months now. Finally got over to Grif's and he installed it for me yesterday. Rode home last night and HOLY SH*T what a difference that makes. I can just barely see a difference when I turn on the high beam, PIAA's and Motolights. I couldn't believe the visability I have now. I am soooooo sorry I waited this long to be converted. I know you all said it made a huge difference, but until you experience the difference you really don't understand. If you haven't done yours yet...Just do it!!!
Now I am considering doing the high beam also. Thoughts? I know it is slow to come on so I loose the high beam flash, but with all the white light I have on the front of my bike I think they'll see me coming up behind em. :bmw:

Just did my Hi beam on my 05' very easy job. I may put HID's in the Hellas now so I can weld things when I am on the road!

What kind of Hella's do you have. I have MicroDE fogs and I was thinking of changing those over before the fall riding season starts. I do a lot mor night riding in the fall than the spring.

Love my CQLights - I went against the conventional wisdom and got the 8000k. Love 'em.

I have HID's both Hi and Low put a flasher on the PIAA lights which are still halogen, they both flash in sequence as you say you can hardly tell that they are on with HID's
but like the flashers as a safety measure.

JackD, are your MicroDE fogs HID? Might be interested in them when you take them off.
Just Bob.

Bob, The 'fog' version of the MicroDE is halogen. Actually same as my original halogen low beam (H3 ?). The lens provides a very good pattern.. it's about 100 feet across at 100 feet out and 3 feet high and has a knife edge just like the HID.. the pattern excellent in fact and I use them slightly turned to left and right using BMR brackets under the mirrors.. as 'critter' lights.
They pick up where my HID leaves off on the left side of the road. It looks like they can easily have an HID swapped in. Kind of cost effective. The Hella HID MicroDE lamps ar too much lamp for the northeast. I already have HID high and lows..

You may get stopped at some time, as this is illegal in all states, by federal standards. Only headlights can be modulated on a motorcycle, at a certain rate and not to full off. Modulated headlights cannot be "sequenced" (on bikes with two), but must modulate together. Lights other than headlights cannot be modulated or flashed.
