I currently have a 05 LT and 07 Dakar 650. After having the LT for a couple of years I just can't seem to get comfortable on it. It my be due to my 36-in. inseam, just not sure. Riding more then two hours I can feel the seat pan edges and it pushes me forward hitting my knee's on the cowl. I have the XL elf pegs but I'm still not comfortable. I was thinking of trying the GSA as there is much more room to move on it. At this point I'm looking for opinions on the wind protection and the pro's and con's of this switch. The 650 is a blast in town but underpowered, too small for the long slab times. I haven't test drove the GSA yet but have plenty of seat time in the showroom lol. I don't really want to trade bikes but after sat. 500 mile mississippi ride my butt was killing me making me lean towards the GSA. Thanks Mike

Have you considered one of the aftermarket seats. I have a Rick Mayer and love it. It can be custom fit to your physical needs and will probably resolve your problem. I know they are not cheap, but cost a lot less than a new bike. Of course if these problems are just your justification for a new bike then go for it! :~)

I would say get a custom seat that fits you and raises you up and then get some MOP's for the highway they are great and don't splay your legs out like your giving birth. You could also have the rear pad in the seat thined to put you a little further back and give your legs more room also.
