If you are not aware of what the Seal160 Ride is, here it is in a nut shell:
A ride in honor of the Navy SEALS and Army 160th Aviators that were lost in Afghanistan, June 2005. The motto is “We go the distance because they did too”. Contributions from the ride go to the families of these folks who left behind wives and young children.
The ride is 1000 miles from Little Creek VA to Savannah and return within 24 hours. This is also a world record attempt for the most bikes to start/finish an Iron Butt Ride. If more than 158 riders sign up and complete the ride a new world record will be set. The ride is to cover 1000 miles in 24 hours ... from Little Creek VA to Hunter AAF Base in Savannah and return. Folks that have ridden this in 05 completed the ride in about 19 hours and that was with a 3 hour break in Savannah with the 160th families (no scheduled event with them on this ride).
For more information and to sign up check out the website at <http://www.seal160ride.com.
Many thanks, tom
