Well, this is a new one on me http://sss.adaptivtechnologies.com/dl/pr/20070212.pdf
says it's weather resistant. How well it works is anybody's guess.

It talks about laser detection but not laser jamming. It's no good if it tells you that you have been detected. Might as well just have a magnetic strip so you can paid the speeding ticket with your credit card and not have to stop.

True, but that would be just like every other one on the market.
Only TPX I'll be buying is the bat. That article didn't sell me. "we built this unit from the ground up"

True, but that would be just like every other one on the market....Not exactly true, the Escort has an add on "Laser Shifter" (http://www.myradardetector.com/zr3.htm) that is reported to be somewhat effective.

True, but that is a laser jammer just like the two sets of blinders I have. While it also "detects" the laser like my V1, I consider the blinder and those like it a different animal all together from your dash board detector.

Hi Jason,
Do you have Blinders mounted on your bikes? I have been thinking about it but would like to hear some success stories prior to investing...
Thanks

:histericaAfter my Valentine One 8K-mile road test, I assure that laser jamming isn't really necessary. I fractured the speed limits all the way to CA and back, and my butt was saved in every State by the V1. You don't know what you're missing until you own one. They rock!

Violating the posted speed limit is wrong, they make these rules for your safety.
Anyone that breaks those rules is a scoff law criminal.

Anyone that don't might as well get rid of their bike

I have yet to mount them as I just got my new LT, but speaking as someone who has a V1 and has been nailed by lidar (laser) on my bike, I will have it mounted soon. I'll keep you posted.

If you don't have a jammer then the other effective things to do are...
Dark colored bike... Black is best.
No Chrome to be visible from the front.
Veil coating on your healight. (absorbs laser)
Real good laser detector... Valentine.
If you are far enough away it may save you from lockon.

Dark colored bike... Black is best. - How about very dark grey?
No Chrome to be visible from the front. - Check.
Real good laser detector... Valentine. - Check.
Veil coating on your headlight. (absorbs laser) - Tell me more about this? What products actually work?

I too am in the process of deciding on which radar detector to buy for my 08 LT. I've read many of the posts here. I can't help but wonder....if the Valentine is so great because it can pick up radar in front of you AND behind you (the arrows do seem advantageous)....where would you mount it? The reason I ask is....if your body is between the V1 in front of you and the cops behind you...won't your body block the signal rendering the radar behind you seeking capabilities useless? I do not want to do a reservior mount either. Looks a little funky for my taste.

Expensive but it already paid for itself on my coast to coast trip... saved my butt many times.

I can take some pics if anyone is interested in where everything was mounted.

My Valentine 1 sits on a Ztechnik Techmount that attaches to the unused mirror hole on the clutch side controls. In this position it has an unobstructed view forward (through the windscreen) and a clear path to the rear.
In two years of use, the V1 consistently picks up radar sources in front and the direction arrows display the signal as moving to side and then rear as I pass. Sometimes I never see the "shooter", but I know they are their. Having the direction arrows, rather than just a beep and a light tells me where to look, helping with the troopers sneaking up behind me to shoot.
My next step is to look into laser blinding as I want to stay even in the tech race.

I have a V1 and this thing works!!!! I pick up radar 1-2 miles out in front. To combat the laser I use Veil Stealth Coating. http://www.laserveil.com/ Lot's less expensive than jammers.
I also have a rack from Legal Speeding that I purchased at the '05 CCR I like the fact that's is weather proof and lockable.
I've attempted to upload a photo but doesn't seem to work.

OK Here's the image of my V1 and Sirius Radio on a lockable shelf from legal speeding.
