I still contend that battery life is still the primary problem with any bluetooth helmet solution. Even the System V, Dainese and the Momo Design helmets claim to have an 8 hour battery life, but I would expect in real-world use, that would translate to 5 hours (only to get worse as the helmet gets older).

If this "New" system is typical Chatterbox quality  .. I will pass untill someone else with a clue of quality controll brings a unit to market.

Malki:
Please let me know how the Starcom unit works. I have a Microsoft smartphone that has a proprietary headset connector so I cannot just plug it into my VoiceII. My phone does have bluetooth.
Did you have to order both parts or just one?

Mine is the same I presume, It's the Motorola Razr V3 with a headphone socket that you just can't get a 2.5mm transfer cable for, so hopefully this will work, just ordered the single plug in unit, will have to wait and see if it works. Away for a dirty weekend with my wife this weekend, then off to the Motorcycle show in Milan on Monday, so will have no time to try it, but i'll let you know as soon as!

I was kind of thinking the same thing, but then I thought to myself: With the low power requirements bluetooth has these days it should be possible to 'just' add on a solar cell on the helmet, or maybe more than one, and recharge the batteries. AS long as you are riding during daytime that SHOULD keep your batteries charged.

Well, you could bolt this to the top of your helmet. Would work night or day, rain or shine. :D
