Don't want to start a long thread but I do not own a tire repair (road side) kit and would like to buy one this weekend. Any suggestions as to what to get? Thanks in advance.

Bud;
I have the Stop and Go kit with the little mushroom plugs.
It is small to carry and is easy to use after the first time. Try it on an old tire first to see how it works its very easy after that. It suposed to be a more permanent fix but we have trust our tires. I did have a flat in chicago on the start of a 4000 mile trip, used the kit and drove to Cleveland with no problems.
Had the tire changed for peace of mind. The dealer there said I could have gone till the tread worn down, but I was not quite that comfortable when me and the SO with full load are on a trip.
Have a good ride

I bought a tire repair kit from my local Advance Auto Parts store and have had good results. You will also need a pump (those CO2 cartridges just don't cut it in my opinion). I have the Cycle Pump (www.cyclepump.com). It's $100, but really great on the road and is small.

I use Stop and Go kit.
Takes about three cartridges to fill the front tire .
Since that first use, I now carry 6 carts...

Bud,
I agree with the StopNGo pocket tire plugger. www.stopngo.com Comes in its own pouch and works great. I have only had to use it once but that more than made up for the cost of around $45. Hope you never have to use one but when in the middle of nowhere it is nice to know it is there when needed.

Got the Stop & Go.. great insurance.. because I haven't needed it...yet.
I carry the stock CO2 cart. AND carry an air pump for "proper inflation".
The "stock" one got me out of a bind when I got my first flat in 10 years (after I had my new bike for 2 weeks)... It was then I realized "Gee, I need a better solution".... The S&G looks like the best... IMHO.... then practice on an old tire... preferrably before you dismount it.

Got the Stop & Go also, but far roadside repairs you can't beat the simplicity of a cheap WalMart plug kit & a $8 12 volt comp. Never used it for myself, but helped alot of people that were waiting on roadside assistance & really thought they were coming.

Stop n go here also, great tool,
I've carried it on my bikes for around five years now,
never used it on a motorcycle tire but I've stopped and plugged three car tires on the highway,
four if you count the flat tire my wife had at home (plug's still holding a year later)
then aired them up with the little compressor I've got installed under the tourpack.
People are amazed that a "motorcycle rider" can do that. :D
