Anybody here done Mexico in November? I'm gonna take two weeks towards the end of November and go from Chicago to somewhere nice and warm in Mexico. No specific destination in mind. But if you had two weeks - keeping in mind that it will take 4 days to go roundtrip between Chicago and Laredo, where would you spend the rest of your 10 days?

Hey, you should **really** chat with Hank at Rhinewest in San Antonio. He knows Mexico like he knows an LT engine - very well! You might want to give him a call (you can use my name, or better yet, Dick's name ;)) and maybe get a personal email addy or such. GREAT guy and won't steer you wrong.

Make sure you go to Zacatecas. Check out the silver mind and stay at the Quinta Real hotel made from a 400 yr old bull ring.

My Wife and I have visited Mexico 6 out of the last 7 years. I would suggest Monterey it is in surounded by Mountains and far enough from the border to pass the worst of the poverty.(Border Towns)
If you speak Spanish it will help, but you can get by with out it. If this is your first trip into Mx. you will be shocked and surprised! I really love the country and the people, of course you will find scoundrels and some of the nicest people anywhere.
Weusually visit during Thanksgiving week, although I spent three weeks there a couple of summers ago, think of being in an oven and then raise the temp a few degrees.
If you get a chance try a drink called "Horchata" It is a rice water drink, it taste like rice pudding in a glass, very refreshing in the summer. I drank one every afternoon, after doing construction.
If you have any ?'s pm me.
