Reassembly questions

I am about to start my reassembly after my recent wreck. Here are a couple of questions:

1. Instrument cluster light bulbs? While I have the instrument cluster off, should I replace the bulbs just because I can? It is a 2002, can I get a bulb to match at auto zone/advance/napa. DEaler is 100 miles away.

2. In reassembling the gear shift linkage where, how much, and with exactly what should I lube?

Ok guess that is it for now, I am sure I will be on here a lot this weekend.

You might try radio shack for your bulbs, most of us on here who have changed bulbs have gone to red, but ordered on line..

As for lube on your shifter, a good synthetic will do fine

I got the bulbs at Walmart a few years ago...just get enough to change them all and you'll not know the difference in OEM.

I did this by way of recommendation on this Forum probably 3 years ago.

Well, ya need to hear from the mountains too... A friend at a parts store a few years ago showed me a trick. I had a 71 dart with amber bulbs and clear lenses, which were more expensive than clear. He used a spray can to paint the bulbs yellow. Could probably be used to color bulbs any color. Whcih would change the display?

That might be cool, to have red or some other display.
