It's a balmy 19 degrees outside....windchill of 0 degrees. Guess I won't ride today except vicariously through my BMW brothers on their LT's. It was warmer here in January!!!!!!

My wife has the week off for Spring Break, so we rode all day yesterday. The day started in the low 60s, but made it to 82° at one point. I dropped her off late afternoon, and went out for the rest of the evening. I barely beat the heavy rains pulling into the garage last night around 10:30pm. This morning, it's rainy and the temps are dropping with each passing hour. Un-freakin-believable!

Fortunately, I'll be pulling outta northeast Ohio SOON and heading SOUTH! :p

It's cooled off to 68F here today. Was 86F yesterday. Like my MSF instructor said, you can ride 364 days a year in Austin.

Well...I say ride....COLD WET HOT WINDY etc...don't like snow though. I rode through the Eisenhower tunnel a few weeks ago...and it was about 67degrees on the west side....went through the tunnel...nice and easy...lil cooler...hit the east side and WHITE OUT!!!!! I was about to panic...then I remembered if you ever slide and fall you can just sit on the side of the big heifer and ride 'er like a sled.

I came from Divide last night on the ol virago and I was DEFINITELY not dressed for it....fingers were numb...windshield is smaller than a egg carton...and I froze all the way down the east side of the mountain... Man I miss my LT...

Ride Cold.....wimp!! :p

I second Messengers comment on the "Dragon"... :histerica

When did it leave?http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifDave (and you other southern boys),

It's one thing to chime in with the ubiquitous "hey, it's nice and warm down here" comment, but posting a picture... of you on the bike... with it obviously warm enough to be wearing mesh gear: that's cruel.

Don't make me send Joe down there to hurt you. :D

SWMBO and I just returned from getting groceries (on the LT, Joe, not the car thank you very much!) and it's 36 and about as windy as it's been in a very long time. Break out the winter gear!

When I lived in Becket MA, on top of a "mountain" in the Appalachian range, by March I was was sick of winter. The time through March, April, and the last snows during May seemed endless.

I feel for ya.

You can feel for us when the temps average between 95 and 105 during our summer, here in the Sonora dessert, Tucson AZ.

Can't wait for summer....anybody have plans on the drawing board for an R-134 cooled seat ???....If so, let me know and we will build it and patent it, then make millions !

There are lots of bikes on the road this time of year, and yes, you can pretty much ride year round.....the hardest riding season is the summer, and you see LESS bikes on the road during July and August than you do through January and February. It is not only the heat, but we are in the thunderstorm capital of North America (2nd in the world), and you aint seen severe weather until you have lived here....try riding around a storm cell that is producing 1600 lightning strikes per hour ! ...then there is street flooding, erratic traffic signals.....and the odd angry hurricane...

There...feel better now ???

Nothing like TRYING to ride in the great Midwest. Snowing right now and a foot of snow predicted sometime Friday. Global warming at its best!!!!!
