Ten minutes ahead of schedule at rendezvoux point. Fuel tank full of 91 octane, stereo wafting 95.5 FM, hot coffee in hand, and day off work. It doesn't get any better.

Ahead of flight plan, light winds, tanks full of JetA, BBC on the HF, "Load" has the coffee going, beautiful sunrise, dinner in FRA. Life is good.

I've always been surprised at how closely two strong passions can invoke such simular thoughts. How many times have we compared notes and found that there are a lot of motorcyclist that are pilots and pilots that are motorcyclist.

When I find the fuel strainer on my LT, I will feel complete.

It is located inside of the fuel tank away from prying eyes :)

I'll see your dinner in FRA and raise you 1 dinner in CDG !

Call your CDG dinner and bump it with a dinner at T40. You'll have to change equipment to make it in, but well worth the swap.

You pilot types sure know how to live ;)

I started working on a license back in high school. 32 years later I still have the itch. Like Bill said, it's interesting to note how closely bike riding aligns with piloting an aircraft. Maybe there's a 'banking' gene that can only be satisfied by one of these activities. Or perhaps it's the mental, almost Zen aspect of concentrating to stay ahead of the machine. Then again, there's the satisfaction of completing an inherently dangerous activity, knowing that your skills and planning have mitigated much of the risk.

Somebody stop me

After spending forty years in the cockpit, I found that the LT added new meaning to "kick the tire and light the fire".

Only if you are the navigator. I've only been there for the Air Show and my time didn't allow me to explore the city. True story. I asked my wife once if she wanted to go with me. Her answer was "No, I don't want to spend a week at a smelly old airport". BTW, she was right but the food in our chalet was outstanding!

If T40 is Rota, I remember a huge quantity of Sangria being taken on there. It was not pretty!

Translation:
FRA is Frankfurt, Germany
CDG is Paris, France
T40 I think is a nice little Navy base in Rota, Spain.

That's a nice place to eat in Marietta. We did a dinner ride there once. I love that air cannon they use to scare the birds away. Food is nice, too and a great view of the river....... :)

Funny.. I don't get "lost" on the LT like I did on the HD's... seems wherever I am, it's good.

Always glad for my "eyes on the ground, looking skyward".. thanks for getting me home.
