I remember a post from a long time ago discussing a BMW pin pusher. Part number 888 66 111 32 . This a BMW tool that now retails for $48.

For one time use it is rediculous to pay that. I also remember someone (Mark Neblett?) posting the diameter of the rod and the hole size that slides over the pin. I believe the poster went to a hardware store or had something in that size that he used to accomplish the task at a much lesser cost.

If anyone has the info as to rod diameter, pin hole size needed, I'd appreciate it.

I recall that.. but not the link...

All you need is tubing that just fits over the pin.... you can get various sizes at a Hobby shop and test for the "right" size. You don't need to "push".. if you can get to the wire itself and GENTLY tug the connector out. Otherwise a rod inside the tube you just used to free the pin can suffice.

Sorry, don't have the specifics...

I posted this some time ago. Found in the old archives. I made a pin remover from brass tubing I got from a hobby shop.

Hope this helps.

By the way, I still have plenty of tubing left. :)
