I picked up my 2007 K1200LT yesterday and was surprised that the tool kit included only the following: a screwdriver, 4 fuses and a fuse holder, and the antenna removal tool.
What should it include? Do I need to go back to my dealer?
Thanks

Oh boy, there's a deep question.. I'd at least ask.. there are some posted pics showing the "stock" kit.
I bought a canvas zippered bag then put my "kit" together... I have the "stock" kit plus more added... I also have my own tire patch tool kit.
There are others who think all you need for riding this bike is a Credit Card.. and a cell phone.

Jim, the unfortunate truth is that BMW has gone cheap on us. I think they started the practice of providing the tool kit you described in 05. My recently acquired 05 has the same thing as your 07. My 03 came with the full tool kit!
You can easily build your own kit, and a search on tool kit in this forum will give you a lot of information as to what some of us put in their kit.

I bought a new LT last year and had a similar concern. The dealer told me they had stopped supplying a tool kit because too many people were doing there own maintenance and causing problems! what nonsense, the truth of course is to save a miserly few pounds.
Later that year touring in Spain i had a tail light blow and guess what in order to change the light you need to open the panniers and using a special allen key remove the huge lens.I had to call out the B.M.W service to change a bulb (i did that to prove a point. You should not have to put a tool kit together at this level)
I complained to the dealer that they should at least supply tools for basic roadside situations as a matter of law.
They supplied me with a comprehensive tool roll gratis.
The tool kit is available as an extra, basic and comprehensive.Out of order in my opinion.
On a different subject can anybody beat this.
Picking up the bike with 2 miles on clock traveled 10 miles clutch went. Called dealership, turns out an engine oil seal failed letting oil into the clutch. B.M.W gave me £500 to accept the bike back after repair

Yep, they say that's all you get in a tool kit nowdays. Number crunchers got their way in the back office, I s'pose!! Butt - your dealer will be happy to sell you a toolkit in the old style - several allen wrenches, tire patch kit, fuses, screwdriver, open-end wrench, ABS sensor gap strip, single edge razor blade, wheel lug wrench --- thangs you see here:

Jim, I'm afraid your going to have to buy one or build your own. Chicago bmw http://www.chicagobmwmotorcycle.com/ has one for $81.60, part # 71112300060 even then you will still add to the kit I know I did, 3/8th's drive, torx bit and allen sockets to fit drive, plus.... Geeeeess I can't remember everything else I put in there
Don't know why BMW stopped adding the kit, anything to make a buck I guess.

Thank you all that responded so quickly. I plan on doing as much service on my bike as I can. I'll put together a set of tools based on all of inputs and advice.
Thanks again

It is part of BMW's new philosophy of "leichtbau (sp? - sorry, I don't know the correct spelling in German)" or building light that they have adopted to great success on the new bikes. Quick, easy way to knock several pounds of the weight of the LT and saves them money in the process.

Jim,
You might want to purchase this tool kit.:)
It has a good hammer.
Enjoy your new wheels.
