Anyone use this shelf? http://store.bobsbmw.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2589 Does installation really require no drilling of the dash? Does anyone have any info on its' installation?

yup. No drilling. It is secured by the two inside torx screws that are located in the area of the windshield bracket opening.

Thanks Raffy. Looking for a quick easy way to mount the GMX 30 antenna for a Garmin2730. Any other ideas are welcome.

I have one of these and am happy with it. It installs in a few minutes easily as Raffy describes. Initially it was a bit loose, and would start to move around after a few miles. This was disappointing as the vibrations caused distractions, and I couldn't read small print on the GPS. I added a small lock-washer to each mounting screw, and put a small square (3/4"x3/4") of 3M dual lock fabric under the shelf where the under side of the shelf almost meets the top of the dash. (Top of dash too). It's now very secure and does not move at all. No holes to drill, very light-weight, installs or removes in minutes. There's enough room on it to place your antenna, radar, and in my case, a small GPS V. It shades the dash in the sun, and also keeps dash reflections off the windshield at night. I'd buy it again. dwillie.

I used one awhile back and it is a good mount. I especially liked not having to drill holes in my new toy.
I had an "L" bracket welded onto mine to mount the cradle for the GPS. It worked great. It is available if you want...say $75 including ground shipping. I have a photo I can send you tonight with the GPS attached.
Let me know if you're interested.

Mounted the Shelf on my R1200Rt. Bolts into exsisting holes. Made "L" brackets and mounted my Garmin 276c in the middle. But now I am thinking of adding a Radar detector, so I should have mounted it off to one side. BTW because of the weight the unit vibrates a great deal. I am going to have to add some "Struts" to the underside, but haven't figured out exactly where.
