Anyone know where I can get a helmet pigtail for the BMW Comm System. They don't seem to sell them separately. Mine came off my helmet and fell into a cattle guard last week.
TIA

Hi John,
There are actually a couple different helmet headsets that you could have. Is your cord going to the helmet a 1 piece cord, or 2 piece that has a short section at the helmet that a lower cord attaches to?
If it is the one piece cord, the part number for the rider's cord is 99000001504.
If it is the two piece cord, the part number for the rider's cord is 65412337300 as far as I can tell from the microfiche.
Both of these can be acquired from Chicago BMW at the following link:

I would advise you to call them on the 800 number and talk to Mark in BMW parts. Verify that these are the latest correct part numbers for your application.

I have two pieces I was going to sell. Not sure if either one of them is what you are looking for:
I have the pigtail (6 pin on one side and PPT input, Mic & speaker plugs for Kenwood radio on other side).
I also have the BMW specific Lower cord made by J&M.
I have replaced both of these with ones for the Midland radios I have.

So I sure would like to know how your connecting the Midland unit to the comm system.
I currently use an Icom GMRS and it connects via the round 6 pin (I think) connector in the center of the comm system.
Does the Midland CB connect the same way? Someone told me that CB units connect to the comm system in the back but I am not sure.
It would be great if I could use both the CB and GMRS at the same time but then I would have to add a third antenna.
Questions Questions Questions LOL

I made a custom cord. I bought the 6 pin adaptor at a local store along with 1/8" and 1/16" jacks and the right size for the PPT button. I connect the helmot directly to the midland radio this way. No comm system involved.

Not sure which cable you are referring to but try Sierra Electronics http://www.sierra-mc.com/categories.asp?cat=29
They should have what you need. They carry all J&M (mfgr. of the BMW Comm System) cables. I have always had very good, prompt service from them.
