You peaked my curiosity about the bracket under the trans for the muffler. I know my 99LT didn't have one. What would be the down side of removing it?

I dunno. The upsides are easier tranny drain, some have claimed a reduction in vibes in that magic 4500 rpm range, some have claimed their muffler pipe stopped cracking. Then there is the weight loss... what? about 6 ounces.

I actually broke the dayem hanger once jumping the bike. Unfortunately, they've fixed that low water crossing.

They added the bracket after several exhaust systems cracked in half, necessitating a full system replacement.

I think TIG lives in my storage unit now, along with 4 other exhaust systems. I guess I think they're gonna be collectibles or sumpthin'!!! BTW - a couple of 'em still need TIG'd if you ever wanna practice your welding skills!! :D
