While at Daytona this year we happened by the Hannigan booth and saw something we might want for our LT. The side car that they had for the LT looked great and seems to fit our bill to get the family on the road. We have read a few testomonials on other websites and they seem to like the sidecar we are interested. If any one has any contradicting information or any other manufacturers we should look at, please let us know. The other main factor was that the Hannigan people said that the side car could be interchanged in 10 minutes. Is this true? and are there any issues like connecting the brakes?

IMHO, I've built rigs before. Your should plan on a dedicated bike sidecar rig. Forget the idea of an interchangeable rig. It needs the geometry set specific to a rig and wears the tires much different from solo. Go to sidecar.com and buy a rig already set-up or set up your LT to a permanent rig.

I have a 99 with a Hannigan 2+2, it comes off in about 15 min. it takes about 20 to 25 min. to put it back on, mainly to get all the bolts lined up. I never loosen the adjustment turn-buckles after its intial setup and have checked it each time I reinstall and the camber and toe have been within spec.
Handling: I highly suggest getting the power trim option road crown really messes with the handling and overall comfort in riding. Be prepared for flat turns if you have a friend that has a trike take a spin around the block on it to get a feel for what your bike will drive like, after 3 years it still feels a little wierd to me to be setting up straight in a curve. your tire life will be decreased by approximately 1/3.
If you have any spacific questions send me a PM and I will try to answer from a users standpoint.

What about getting a cheap small car and then keep the bike as a bike? I've driven an "outfit" and use a trike regularly and its nothing like riding a bike!
