I installed a set of PIAA lights on my 01 LT controlled with the autoswitch slaved to the turn signal canx button. The first week was most excellent with no problems....then, yesterday I was riding home when the PIAAs kicked off. I turned them back on and they went off again in a few seconds. I repeated this for 2-3 minutes and they stayed on for the remainder of my commute---about 40 minutes. This AM they went off again and went through a couple of cycles before they stayed on?? The problem doesn't seem to be associated with a loose connection or bump in the road. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks---Alan

P.S. I also installed a 4200K HID kit on the low beam and love it!!!!!

If you installed the PIAA's with their own wiring system, you should have 2 indicator lights on the button.. Green for off, Red for on. What is the status of the lights?

I mounted the LED in the instrument panel and when the PIAA lights are on I get a green light. When they shut down the LED turns red for a second and then dark. Alan

If going dark you are loosing the "main" power to the relay. Recheck connections.. could be an 'intermittent' fuse... replace it... make sure the relay isn't coming loose from the harness... don't forget the 'ground'.. it can be a nuisance.. also, plz fill in your PROFILE.

BTW.. the "on/off" button is actually a "switch". The relay will engage only when power is present. Vibration can cause "intermittents" such as you mention... which is why I suggest replacing the fuse..

To diagnose "intermittents", take a screwdriver by the tip and "tap"/rap on the various componenets while the lights are "on"... I think you'll find your problem area soon.

Dear Sir,

Thank-you for the advice, I will check the items you have suggested and let you know what I found.

Thanks---Alan

I also updated my profile. You probably already know it but I'm a real green horn when it comes to posting on a forum.

I just installed Piaas and the autoswitch on my 05' LT. When not using the lights the LED is unlit. When the ingition switch is turned on the LED glows red for a split sec then goes off. When the cancel switch is pushed the LED lights green then starts flashing, then I release the switch and the lights come on and the LED glows green all the time the lights are on. When shutting off the lights I hold down the switch the LED blinks green I release the switch and the lights go off and the LED goes off also, it does not turn back to red just off. Your saying that the LED should be glowing green all the time the lights are off, and red means the Piaas are on? My lights work and don't shut off, it seems to me that when the ingnition is turned on the red LED means there is power to the autoswitch and the green is flashing when pushing the cancel switch means the autoswitch has power and the release the cancel switch is the actual turning on of the autoswitch and solid green means the lights are on.

The AutoSwitch LED will flash red if you have the 'two click' one. I have two AutoSwitch assemblies that run off the the cancel. A one click and a two click.

The two click AutoSwitch will go from 'green' to 'red' on the first one second click.. almost like it is telling me it's sensed the first click. If I click it again then it then turn off my light.
