Got the LT home on Monday from Michigan!! Hurry up sunny warm weather!!!
I want to thank everyone who provided me with words of advice and answers to my questions of how to import the bike from the US. I had all the documentation ready and the whole process only took about an hour. Must have been a slow day on the Canadian side, they checked out the paperwork pretty thoroughly.
Thanks again,
George :bmw:

In Canada you ride an LT when you can. Warm sunny weather is just a bonus.
Either way enjoy the ride!!

I guess we'll have to get together for a ride sometime.

Hey George,
My LT was also from Michigan. They could be related for all we know. I brought it back home on a trailer and the good folks at Customs at Sarnia went through it with a fine tooth comb. Must have been the same people. Just make sure that you follow up with the paperwork from the Registrar of Imported Vehicles. You'll have to take the bike to a Canadian Tire dealership for its federal and provincial inspections. Make sure they don't charge you, as they get paid from the feds for the service.
I'll be back home from Texas in late April and maybe we can do an RTE then. Congratulations once again.

Congrats on your new purchase. I bought my bike in New Hampshire. Can't imagine anyone buying a use LT in Canada. Much cheaper south of the border and more plentiful. Going to Mississauga late July or early August. Maybe get together for a little tour of Southern Ontario.
Cheers

  :( :(
My (cough, cough) sick voice (hack) isn't as good as it used to be. Had to work yesterday.
But I did get out Sunday afternoon when it was 5C. Thank God for the heated grips and seats! :rotf:
