View Full Version : wiring in Piaa/Baehr solo

On a 2001 r1100s does any one have experiance in tapping into the bikes electrical system to power both these add on's, looking for a keyed on/off power wire...matthew

Do you have a parking lamp (pilot light)? Tap into that since it is ona a switched power source. If you have heated seats then that would be another candidate. Worst case, the taillight/running light.

If I am stating the obvious, just ignore, but you will need to put a relay in line to run the lights. Use the sources that Raffy listed to trip the relay.

FOUND IT< Flat plug under seat by air filter tapped into the licence plate light, found out grounds for Piaa and Beahr comm system must go to battery, FYI for others, 3nights to install hyper lites inside rear tail lights drilling the reflector assy made me nervous, then routing all my Beahr solo wiring for two way radio/w ptt and a mp3 player and Piaa 004X lights, rear carbon fender to match the BMW Carbon Fiber kit on the bike, this one is ready to ROCK...matthew
