I am in the middle of fixing my speedometer by soldering the jumpers on "JB" and "JC". My bike (2000 K1200LT) is totally apart in my garage looking sort of like I ran over a nuclear bomb. As I was putting my instrument cluster back together a part fell from somewhere up front and I found it by my front wheel. I have NO idea where it came from or what it is. For you experts out there, what is this part? It's gray plastic about 1/2' long.

I've attached a photo.

That appears to be the insert that goes in one of the rubber buttons that is used for adjusting the time on the clock. Obviously, both buttons have one so be on the lookout for another or maybe it's still in there.

Good Luck!

Kinda hard for me to tell from the pic, butt it *might* be one of the probe buttons used in setting the clock (unless you taped them over to keep 'em from falling out). Those are on the right side of the bike, butt could roll some distance and be on the left side of the wheel.

Sorry if that's not the correct i.d.

My undying gratitude and a chance to be peppered with even more questions as I try to get this beast back together. Who can resist that?

The oppotunity to contribute. That's good enough for me! ;)
Return a little something for the help I've recieved here.

Now I can't speak for Dick, but I think you figgered out how I would know the answer to that question. (Found mine on the work table. You know the rest.)
Yup, we all in the same boat here.

I think you will like the Speedo mod. Good Luck
