1ST ride of new year

Just got back from a quick ride.Sure feels good again.When we got back from Fl last week the battery was stone cold dead,so I ordered anew one on line yesterday,today I thought what the heck let;'s throw the charger on and see what happens.After 6 hours,bang,starts and runs great.Did I just waste $'s on a new battery? or is the original in my 05 weak now after sitting for several months without a battery tender.Any opinions?

Rich, after several months of a low/no charge, and no activity, you battery did loose some of its potential, including full charge, etc...
You can alway keep it as a spare or loaner, but a new battery is piece of mind.
I just replaced the battery on my 03 last Saturday, and funny thing is that I got a few more miles per tank of gas during my 300 miles Sunday ride.
