Hi Peeps,
I have a '06 with 4k on the clock, when I let the clutch out when starting off I get a "clunking" noise, seems to be from near the gear lever area.
The dealer reckons that it is quite normal for a shaft driven bike.
Any comments ??

Something is loose, I would have the dealer take more than a cursoury (sp) look...almost 50,000 on my LT, no "clunks", no suprizes.
I would start by checking the Paralever arm, and also check your rear shock adjustment, and mounting points for a loose fastener.

Martin,
My bike does too and has for a long time. It especially does it if I am letting the engine idle (rolling) with no throttle and just let the clutch out quickly. Not quite sure where the "lash" is in the driveline, but it is there and has been for a long time. Any others experienced this?

My bike same as Pastorjack. I just thought it was the clutch engaging.

Good morning all,
Many thanks for your responses.
I will leave it for the time being, but if it gets worse, I'll get BMW to have a look.
Have a nice weekend all.

Why, yes...yes it is. ;) I do have such a hard time fitting all four of us on the LT (Light Truck) though. One on the handlebars...one on the back seat...and one... :thumb:
