Probably a really silly valve question.............

Trying to check valve clearances
1. removed spark cover
2. removed plug cables (left plugs)
3. can access 7 or the nine screws on the valve cover, but not the top left 2

Do I have to remove the drop bar ro reach them? Or buy a very short hex key?

The bar is easily removed with a couple of allen bolts

Make sure to put the plug wires back on the plugs, otherwise you may have some oil drip onto your plugs and create some additional clean up activities.
