Have noticed a mild clutch-slip over the past week on three occassions, 1st time was 2-up on the weekend, then twice solo while commuting either to or from work in city traffic. Each time under acceleration, so throttled off ever-so-briefly to let it catch then open up again.
Can see no sign of any leaks under the bike, although I suppose from all I've read about the slave cylinders failures that would be the likely evidence of catastophic failure of the system.
I've got 26,300kms on the bike, so a bit of riding to do before the next major service (30,000km).
2 year warranty is good until early September,

So whats the concensus? :confused::confused:
Keep riding (this thing is my car.. it goes everywhere) until I'm sure there's a problem, or get it to the dealer asap?
The dealer I trust is 80 km's away, the one I'm less comfortable with is only 5km's.

I guess if it goes in, I can hassle them about the head shake at the same time... (you know, hands off (but near) the bars at 70-80km's (~40mph) gives the nice deathwobble experience)..... :(

I'd get it to my dealer as soon as I could and get it repaired. I speak from experience, having had to do the clutch twice in the last year.

Hi Chris,
I reckon its all that polish you keep putting on all that extra chrome shiny bits. Probably gets hot parked in teh sun, and the polish runs down onto your clutch. Therefore its your fault for getting such a shiny LT.

Seriously, that is a bummer, and I'd get it to the dealer sooner rather than later. Have you noticed any drop in the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder?

Good luck

Cheers

Barry

Have you noticed any drop in the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder?Just had a look. If I tilt the handlebars all the way to the right, the little sight glass shows about 3/4 full. Don't recall if its ever been "higher" than that. The brake fluid in RH glass, when tipped so its highest, shows overfull in its sight glass.

Guess I'll hammer it a little and see if it happens again.
If so, I'll make the call. cheers mate
