Is this product worth its purchase. Or does it make braking and shifting cumbersome?

Braking and shifting will be cumbersome without the Ilium shift extender and the extended brake pedal. I only rode my bike for 50 miles (test ride) before I installed the floor boards. I wouldn't ride without them now. YMMV

And while you've got folks that have posted for them I wouldn't have them on my bike. I drag the footpegs from time to time and the floor boards touch sooner than the standard pegs do. They are a "Do not go there" for me. JM2CW.

I don't ride a sport bike & therefore never drag pegs. Love my boards..

I have used these floorboards for four years. Would never have another bike without them. They are just so much more comfortable than pegs. Takes about, um, 10 seconds to get used to the shifting. Go fer it.
