View Full Version : No power at lower Power Outlets

Yesterday, I installed New Plugs, Aux Audio cable, new Fuel door and new air filter on my 05 LT. After I was done I found out that there was no power at the lower front power outlets. I am not sure if there was power there before either since I recently got the bike from a private owner. I went back and checked every connector that I unplugged and everything seems to be OK. Therefore, I am not sure why there is no power. I am thinking of pulling direct line to power outlets from the battery if I can not figure out where the disconnect is? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
astuber

The power outlets receive power from fuse #7. It also supplies power the the windscreen. One quick check would be to see if the windscreen will move, if it does, that would mean that the fuse is good and you do have something disconnected. HTH

It's real easy to forget to plug them back in when done working and putting it all back together.

Sometimes the + portion, inside the female, gets corroded.
Many devices that got into the female, won't break trough the corrosion, oxidation to make a connection.

Yes, it was 15A blown up fuse.

Why did the fuse blow - corrosion?? Would use Joe's technique as stated!!

I was thinkering with XM radio power supply and I switched the leads couple times. That probably did it. But I also noticed white stuff(corrosion) inside the connectors. So, I will start to use dielectric grease. Excellent recommendation.
