My '03' has approximately 96 hp. I`ve read the new ones are sporting 115 hp. Both are 1200cc engines. I`m wondering if their is a chip that can be installed or some other means to increase hp a bit that won`t shorten engine life. I`ve heard of performance pipes but the quieter the better as far as I`m concerned. :bmw:

Great, I appreciate the info. At least that would get me up over 100hp.

Mine has the Remus Titanium , and Rhinewest chip...pretty expensive, but very noticable extra ooomph !!!

Still looking for that stainless steel 1.250" X 4" piece of pipe to quiet her down some. Maybe try a plumbing supply place next.

I'm just wondering why you feel you need more
(not that there's anything wrong with that)
your "stock" LT will leave "any" Road King or Ultra way behind
even when they've had the high dollar carb and exhaust mods done to them.

Or is it that you want to leave them behind "just a little quicker" :)

I will also go out to find the 4" pipe. I have the Remus Sport system. It is loud, without a doubt. Since I ride solo, I set up my LT to be more of a "street machine" rather than a full-dress tourer.

I like the Sport exhaust but perhaps louder than I bargained for. Hopefully, the mod will tone it down some, maybe to Remus Street version db levels. Then when I want, I can remove it for full "sport" effect. Thanks for the tip.

If your not running synthetic oil, you should. The manufacturers and people who use them claim an additional 1 or 2% horsepower.
