I'm about ready to buy one for $229 delivered off eBay and was curious from those that have this particular model if you are happy with your decision to purchase one.

Comments please.

Its been a great detector for me. Very few false alerts so you learn to trust it and rely on it. Like they say, if it alerts you'e be a fool to ignore it.
Escort owns Bell so the Escort 8500 and the Bell RX-65 are essentially the same units with different styling and features. I got the Bell over the Escort for two reasons: it has a voltmeter and you can set it to display voltage and radar info at the same time. And it has voice alerts; when it alerts a voice tells you what band is alerting.
I'd choose a Bell RX-65, Escort 8500 or a Valentine -- you can't go wrong with any of these.

Appreciate the input. Just got mine and will test it out on a quick trip to Vegas (4 wheeling it this time).
