In an earlier thread on my PIAA/Autoswitch install I explained how I must have a bad PIAA relay. The lights worked with the on/off switch just fine until I installed the Autoswitch then nothing. If you jumper out the relay the lights came on so I figured the coil in the relay died..
Well last night I wanted to look at it once more before I contacted PIAA about a replacement relay. Since I was using the Autoswitch I had decided not to install the PIAA on/off switch. I just unplugged it and put it aside. Well guess what unless you have the switch plugged and in the on position when you put 12V on the white switch wire via the violet wire on the autoswitch it has no way of picking the relay. Plugged the switch back in and turned it on and all is well..... After I looked at the wiring a little closer it became very obvious..... I hate it when I'm that dumb...
Has anyone else run into this and since I don't want to leave the switch coiled up and under the seat I'm thinking that I can just jumper out the red & white wire going to the plug or am I really out in left field somewhere??
