Do you find any particular brand of gas performs better in your bike or are they all much the same?
(Yeah, there's a thread on this topic but no poll...)

The cheapest one at the time runs best in my bike.

I use Shell or Conaco or the local grocery store. Mostly Shell because it's on the corner by my house.

Mobil's Speedpass RFID key fob is very fast and handy for motorcyclists -- slip it in your key case, on your key ring or in/on a glove and you always have easily accessible gas money. No wallets or cards to deal with.

Hi,
I think it has much more to do with octane than the brand.
Just my experience.
I buy the closest pump that has 91 or higher octane when to odometer hits 210 miles.
No 91 in my little town, so it's a fun ride to go to the places that do.
My .02 worth. :bmw:

I take my big 6 mpg Hummer and a 5 gallon plastic gas can 30 miles to my local airport and buy aviation gas @ 4.32 per gal. I only do this because BMW doesn't have their own brand' and I don't want anything but the best. IF I have any left over last years dirty smelly old gas I put it in my wifes moped...
PS: The fuel truck they use to fill plans says City Service on the side.
It's a 1962 Chevy with no exhaust...

Hey Fred,
I don't get the jist of this:
(PS: The fuel truck they use to fill plans says City Service on the side.

)
Also, do they use plastic containers to fill the planes? Using 5 gallon containers sometimes isn't the cleanest way to fill a fuel tank of anykind. Might be a dead bug or some other strange material in or on the can. Fuel stations are used more often and are more apt to deliver clean fuel. Of course, if one notices the delivery truck sitting there, it most likely has just stirred up any settlings in the storage tank. I just visit a different station. And I hope their filtering system is functioning properly.
Guess I've been lucky as I've never had a clogged fuel filter on any of my vehicles in 50 years of driving. :bmw:
Just a thought.

I swear I don't believe in such things, but my LT seems to really run great on Shell high test. I mean I think I really do feel the difference.

I try to find older pumps that have a separate dispensing hose for each grade. If you have the combination pumps you dispense the first gallon of what the guy bought last. With individual hoses I pump Premium from the start and I do not fill up with the last person's regular gas still static in the hose, valves, and pumping mechanism.

Warning - Avgas has LEAD in it. Great for those old 60's Dodge Chargers etc, but no good for anything with a catalytic converter. I had my plane's tanks drained once by some a*****e wanting cheap 100+ octane leaded fuel for his hotrod

When I was in college more years back than I care to remember, I was a truck driver for a fuel distribution company. We'd haul gas from one company's refinery to another company's station. Load at independent refineries and dump at company stations and vice versa. I don't know if that is still the practice but I believe as long as octane requirements are met, gas is gas. I use any brand mid grade in the winter and premium in the summer in my '02 K1200LT.

Shell or Chevron, seem the same to me. Whichever is closest when Frau gets thirsty.

I like using Shell mid-grade or Diamond Shamrock mid grade year round. No pings and my mileage is pretty consistent at 48-50 mpg and a bit higher on the freeway. Maybe the high altitude has something to do with it

Sunoco's reputation for performance and octane being "what you see is what you get" around here is my choice, but you didn't have it listed.
