smaller tank bag and top box 06 KGT

I'm running the 06 K1200GT, and lov'in it. Starting to plan this summers trip. My wife rides her own 07 HD Road King w/ soft luggage bag, so she has plenty of storage. Since I ride solo; I dont think i'de need quite that much storage, after looking at the size of that top box and tank bag. I see there's two top boxes, and one tank bag size BMW makes available. I hav'nt seen anyone using the smaller top box on the new GT. Also, I was thinking about The Chicane Canyon or the Canyon EX(which is smaller). Dont want to be hitting horn or starter buttons! Is a smaller tank bag and smaller BMW top box practical to use for touring solo?
Any oppinions?

Just depends on what you need, versus what you want to take. I used a small top case and a small tank bag. If you just MUST take more, just buy a sport bag and tie it to the passenger seat. I did this on my last trip to CA so I could bring back a load of bourbon at half the price of what the gov't steals from ya here in WA.
