HID Ignites then goes out?

My approx. two year old HID low beam from HID-online is not working. Earlier today I noticed that the illumination was not the usual bright white but more pinkish. Now when the light is turned on I get a split second of ignition then it goes completely out. Do I have a bad ballast or lamp? -Chuck-

call hid on-line. perhaps they can help. i have one of their low beams but have had no problem. a thought comes to mind with regard to your problem. i wonder could it possibly be a bad relay. out side of that, i would suspect a bad connection or a bad ballast. omurphy

Talked to HID-Online today they said that the lamp has a short in it.? I ordered a new lamp that should be here on Monday, we'll see what happens.-Chuck-

Have you gotten your problem fixed?

I had a similar experience with an off-brand HID. When looking at it closely, while turning it on, I noticed that a piece in the bulb had broken and would move around. Sometimes it would light, sometimes it wouldn't. A new bulb solved the problem.

Can you please advise who you spoke to at HID-ONLINE as there is no way you can come to this conclusion without seeing the failed article. There is an methodical analysis that you should have been taken through which does not appear to have happened
