Why can't I add an avatar

I've been into my profile and updated. went into the relevant section and selected the file,

60 100 , and less than 64K, and the picture appears in the box, and then i get an error with a jump too.....

You have an avatar on your profile, so you must have figured it out?

I still got the error message, I guess the software figured it out by it's self ?
