I am writing this letter to all of you, to remind you of our charity auction held each year at our Curve Cowboy Reunion.

We all know that there are children out there in need. Each year our organization chooses a children’s charity in the area that our Rally is held. 100% of all proceeds from the auction are donated to the charity.

It is now time for our members to give of themselves and to help us make this auction a successful event. Last year the director of Treehouse, the recipient of our donation, could not stop crying all evening. She was overwhelmed with the generosity of our group, a bunch of strangers who came to their community for a few days and helped out children unknown to them. We donated $22,000 to their organization.

Whether you are attending the Rally or not, you can make a difference with your donation.

Ladies and Gentlemen, some of you are very talented and make jewelry, knit, crochet, quilt, scrapbook, paint etc. Donate one of your creations. I’m sure many of you play golf, canasta, bridge etc. and your foursomes or clubs have people who have contacts for corporate giveaways. Help them do their job to give away merchandise and advertise their company. Who do you know that you can go and ask for a donation? We spend lots of money at our local BMW Dealerships. We work for large international companies and or have friends that might have access to those same companies. These companies are frequently active in motor sports and have race jackets and umbrellas that they give away all the time. Request some for us. Other companies have theater tickets or other sport tickets as giveaways for important clients. You support them, who are more important than you or us. Anyone into hot air balloon rides or own a time share? There is a host of other possibilities, use your imagination.

Please help us out. We are counting on you to help us surpass last year’s donation. Please be a part of this worthwhile and exciting occasion. Donate a gift certificate, collectible or souvenir.

If you can donate, please send to or contact:

I will be depositing our first proceeds from the auction today. About a year ago, our good friend Bruce Harris decided that there was no longer room in his garage for his motorcycle lift. He insisted that I bring it down to my place where we regularly hold tech sessions. We used it a couple of times and decided that it takes up too much valuable space, we can fit another bike in if we don't use it. A fellow BMW rider got wind of it and offered to "buy" it. I told him to make the check out to CCR for the charity. Thanks Bruce and thanks Bill Gasque for your donation.
