I will be doing something in this area. I have built 3M kits in the past for several other BMW's. I plan to concentrate on the tank area, knee scuff area, etc. Any other ideas anyone might have, please pass them along... I can't promise to satisfy all interests, but plan to put a concise kit together that protects most demanding areas...

The wife kicks the hand grab bars on the LT's saddlebags!
The front fairing that houses the headlamps on the LT.
The area your feet hit at the toe of the shifter and the brake.

I hear the 3M stuff is pretty good.

Hey Jim, when folk's go to sit on my GT they swing their leg over and kick the top of the saddlebag. A leetle scuff that rubs out, but an area you'll become familiar with till you get used to it.

Already one on the right side, guess it got there while in shop. Shop will clean that one up tomorrow morning... I'm going to look into creating a 3M piece that will lay down over the affected areas that you are referring to.. Any good idea as to how much we need to cover.... We probably need to get together, or do some pics to decide the best coverage area to work on.. I know the contour will require some special cuts in the material....

It's not a lot, right at the top, close to, but not on, the forward bend.

Of course, this spot only happens with rookies. When you get used to it (vs. the LT) you don't do it anymore.

As I indicated above, I am looking for inputs from riders in group to help me decide what areas of coverage I need to incorp. in the kit.

So please, everyone provide your inputs.. I of course have my own ideas, but what I think is necessary probably will not be agreeable to everyone else.

Only managed to get about 85miles on bike today

Will do better tomorrow.. :p

If anyone has inputs for me prior to completion of kit design, send em my way soon !

As of right now, I am only going to produce coverage for side bag tops, seat up to gas filler (belt buckle anti-scratcher piece), and top portion of headlamp assy.

Headlamp assy piece will be a seperate kit from other.

If you have any other considerations, please post them, or PM me directly...

Thanks,,,,,,
