It will be available at CCR this year!

I just got confirmation that the MO Rider Training Organization will be able to accommodate us with several ERC classes, if we can fill them. Each class will be a maximum of 12 riders, and it will run independant of weather, within reason.

We do need to pay in advance, so your cancelled check will be you receipt. The cost will be $ 100.00 per rider with an option, if the entire class agrees, to have lunch at the site for an additional $10.00 fee.

The facility is, if I remember the map correctly, about 15-20 minutes from TTA!
If you have any questions, please contact me.

I would ask the moderator to please make this a sticky post, and to please duplicate it where ever else it would be beneficial, if anywhere.

What are the payment details? Is there a deadline?

An Experienced Riders Course.

Sort of drivers (or riders) ed for the experienced rider. I believe most classes review the basics of riding a motorbike (lane positioning, countersteering, etc.). They even analyze your riding and identify bad habits so that you can improve upon them before you get hurt or make a mistake.

If I go to CCR, I will definitely sign up for it.

How does this one differ from the MSF one?

How does this one differ from the MSF one?
(Motorcycle Safety Foundation)It's the "experienced rider" version of the BRC (Basic Rider Course) -- both are taught by the MSF.

Thanks Howard, I know ERC and BRC and we are talking about ERC.
My Question is the difference between MSF ERC and MO Rider Training ERC.

Details have not been fully worked out just yet as to payment. It does need to be in advance (I would like to see payment made to us <CCR>, and we make a single payment to the provider), but this has not yet been set up.

If anyone is interested, for now, please post your intention to register here, and the time stamp will be the determinant, should there be less than full classes. The earliest time stamp, for now, and the earliest payments once we finalize how to make the payment..

It is the next step to proficient motorcycling after learning to ride and becoming comfortable with the controls and how the bike reacts to input. It puts more focus into rider preparedness, mental and physical skills, and thought patterns for safer, more relaxed and controlled riding, in any given enviornment.

It doesn't differ at all. It is the same 6-8 hour class given on the practice range using your own motor and with brief chat sessions between some exercises.

Experienced Rider Course click here to go to the web page http://tinyurl.com/2stt88

do not let the word expereinced fool anyone, if you can ride and have rode a few months you can take the ERC, it is not that difficult but does a good job training you, most anyone will enjoy this class

I am in for one rider, one passenger, and two lunches. I would opt for a course before or after CCR for those of us arriving early and departing late (if there are enough for a course on either side). This would maximize the time available for the other activities and facilitate blowing an entire years disposable income at the vendors booths.

As of right now, we know that we have the possibility of instructors for 3 days (on the 28th, 29th, and 30th). That does not mean everyone can choose, however.

Before a class can be scheduled, it must be populated. They will not run a class with 2 or 3 people. We will try to accommodate everyone for the days they prefer, but it will be subject to filling classes first.

I am still working on getting classes before and after CCR. If we have demand that will fill classes, I expect we can convince them.

I was just wonderin why this one cost so much. That's all. I thought there might have been more content or something. The description from OHIO MSF below...

The Experienced Rider course offers the experienced rider the opportunity to understand the principles of turning, braking, swerving, street stategies and traction control. This one-day course offers half a day of classroom instruction and a half day of practicing the priciples learned in the classroom on your motorcycle. It costs $25 for all individuals, including co-riders.

Took it at Lakeland last year, and I thought is was good.

The same course that we Ohioans take for $25 costs riders in other states a lot more.

Here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, ERC runs about $75.00.

And btw, you can count me in for lunch, as well.

Cool, I just wanted to make sure. If it had different content I'd look further into it. Thanks Howard.

At Jay's request, I have created a signup page for the ERC at CCR. There is a class scheduled for Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Other classes may be scheduled if this one fills up.

Registration for this ERC will be on a first-paid basis. The price is $105.

Actually, anyone with an out of state license will pay more, even in Ohio. It varies from state to state, but most do the same thing.

I'll bet it is cheaper for a resident in MO, also. It all depends on the address on your license.

There seems to be some confusion on this.

First off, the date for the ERC is Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Second, lunch is NOT included.
