I'm real excited to announce Thursday's entertainment! Jeff Eagan crawled the country to find the appropriate band for our discriminating taste's.

The band is called, The Souled Out Band, and is a 10 member band including a horns section. Their influences are Tower of Power, KC and the Sunshine Band, Earth, Wind & Fire, and The Average White Band. It's 70's rock and funk (not disco), and I feel they have the energy that CCR needs to get everyone on the dancefloor.

I'll never forget at Breckenridge, 10,000 feet of altitude, we could hardly breathe and there wasn't room on the dance floor.

We've recently added a page on the CCR website which profiles the band.

For those of you familiar with the Blues Brothers (not to be confused with the Booze Brothers), the Souled Out Band will be entertaining us with special performance before the dance.

In the famous words of the late great Cab Calloway as Curtis in the movie, "And now ladies and gentlemen, it is the distinct pleasure of the management to present to you, the evening's star attraction. Here they are back after their exclusive three year tour of Europe, Scandinavia and the sub-continent. Won't you welcome from Calumet City Illinois, the show band of Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues... The Blues Brothers."

I'm fairly excited about this one myself...

Apparently Jeff did some pretty serious negotiation to get them in.

Their first price was pretty outrageous...And I'm a musician...

Should be a great time.....Lindy likes Sax.....

She advised me that Sax=S.....Well, you know what I'm talking about..

See you there Griff....Kudo's to El Jeffe on this one.....

Hey Grif,

Wasn't it you that said Brett couldn't take a hint? :histerica

This band is great!!! I heard them perform at another convention I was at in Myrtle Beach last year. They have a great lead vocal and their horns are the best I've heard since Herb Albert (Not counting Chicago--of course).

Kudos to Jeff and to the entire CCR crew...Is it August yet?
