Has anyone tried tourease floorbards I see advertised on e-bay? I guess that is what their name is, does not specifically say on his web site. They are made by a guy named Darius Kowalski out of Connecticut. Price is good and they look good , wanted to know if anyone has anything to share about them.

Darius is a member here. If you do a search, you'll find pix and discussion re: his floorboards.

I have a pair of DODK64 passenger floorboards. They seem like a great value (fine quality and easy install) and customer service when ordering is great :) , but my preferred pillion has not tried them yet. I am considering a pair of lowered rider floorboards because at 6'4" I often feel a little cramped on the KLT. :( I am wondering how fast and aggressive in the twisties I would have to ride before they would be a mistake. Any thoughts?

It just occurred to me, Darius. . . Would you sell your bracket without the floorboard so I could install my own choice of floorboards? Also, you once mentioned modifying your design to lower the boards so they could be more level rather than angles down. Have you made any progress on this?

TIA

i made a set of adapters for flatter boards but it was terrible. it was very difficult to shift. try this. sit at a kitchen chair. keep your foot flat on the floor. now pretent you are riding and pretent to shift. your ankle does not have much movement. you can not bend your ankle high enough to shift. i thought it would be good ,but it was not.it the lower boards has a slight angle which is extremely comfortable.even the regular height ones angle may look like it is angled quite a bit,but it is at same angle as you foot is on stock peg. that is very comfortable to. why don't you try a pair? you can send back for full refund if you don't like them. i will even pay for return shipping.

.. I just installed the driver relocated version. Well, price is competitive, quality looks good, customer service is A++++ .. I took 150 mils ride, and it is awesome , would never go back to the factory pegs .... big 10 to Daruis :)

Looks like a very well made product - I've never had floorboards before. Do you think they improve overall comfort levels? Kinda seems like they would allow your legs to relax more... I guess I'm just trying to figure out the advantages.
Any additional input you have would be appreciated.

I'm really interested in getting a set! ;)

OK they are on the bike now.. Took all of 3 minutes each side. They look very nice, good quality and as everyone else has said Darius has great customer service... Now I need to see if I want to make the next step to driver boards

A question from a short person: I have a concern that the added width of a floorboard will make it harder for me to get my feet on the ground. I have not found a bike to check this out. Do the floor boards require a wider stance?

You don't specify what short is for you, but my first instinct would to be to say yes. Floor boards will take up the immediate space in front and behind the rider foot pegs. If you have to tuck you feet in either in front or behind the pegs to hold the bike up, then your stance is going to be wider.

It is my legs that are short so it sounds like my feet will be further from the ground by having to stretch beyond the boards. thanks Steve.

I do not have them on the BMW yet...I did have them on my Harley's and loved them. I added a set to my Goldwing and loved them as well but they did get in the way at stops, they hit the sides of my ankles. I believe if you put them on the beamer you will run into the same issue. With a 32 inch inseam I just make touching flat footed with regular pegs.
