Order Placed for 2 motorcycle kits. For you late model LT owners, I specified an H-9 high beam, but authorized them to substitute an H-11, if the H-9 was unavailable.

Thanks, Pat, for setting up the group buy.

Order placed. Charged me $ 20 for international mail. Thatīs ok, here in the boondocks we are used to pay extra of everything :) Iīll have to pay also custom fees + VAT, but still itīs lot cheaper than the original BMW HID replacement kit, which was 1100 € Jari

Justgot an e-mail from Fashtek

Hey Pat,

I got a lot of people send me payment but without any info on what they need.

It's better for folks to send me a confirmation email with their name and address and confirm the application and color temp.

Thanks

Please put type of kit and color temp you want in message section of Pay-Pal and send a confirmation e-mail as suggested above with your info. Here is their e-mail addy CONTACT@FASHTEK.COM

Just sent in my order Mike,
Wouldn't mind helping you install it, just so I can compare this kit with the ones from CQLight.ca. Let me know...

Hey Joe , where you been? If you are going to give Mike hand with his kit watch the hole size in the cover. Instructions say 15/16th's hole ---NOT (and don't ask how I know:o ). Like you I now use my #4 step drill and drill it to 13/15th's, works like a charm.;)

By the way are you guys in Ohio warming up or what? Last time I was out working on my install it took 3hrs. to get feeling back in my fingers.

No, Ohio isn't getting any warmer. :( But thank God for messenger13's heated garage. :)

Must be nice. My heater puts out to much heat to fast, condensation everywhere, not a good thing.Makes it hard to come up with new ways to mount things. Wires not very flexible when it's 8 above.:(

Pat:

Apparently, most of us are putting our order information in the remarks area of our PayPal order, and they're not either seeing it there or it's not getting through. I was one of the people that they sent an email requesting information that I'd already stated in the PayPal payment/order.

I had to resend the information, via direct email, after they contacted me.

Thanks again...

Sorry John, and anybody else this happened too. I apologize. I have been gone most of the day and just got an e-mail from the vendor. Here is his e-mail.

one more thing; it will be helpful if people put down the application and color temp in the subject area. for some reason comment or note doesn't always show up.

So it will be H7 4300K Bike HID BMWLT Group Buy, or H7 4300K & H3 4300K Bike Kit group buy.

Sorry about the incovenience.

Just sent my order in. Can't wait to install it. In two days of riding I have had 2 cages pull out in front of me. Maybe this will help them see me. :bmw:

I just ordered low & high beam kits for my 'new to me' '99 LT. I'll be accepting help from any of you seasoned members that are willing to guide me through the installation process. I live near Disneyland, but don't want a 'Mickey Mouse' installation! If you're in So Cal, and willing to help, please let me know.

Pat, Thanks for setting up the Group Buy. :thumb:

It took 2 e-mails and a phone message to get a response. Fashtek has had my money for about 2 weeks, but I have no HID. They finally responded they were out of the temperature I had ordered and were awaiting re-stocking. I received no conformation e-mail and no return call when using the voice mail system. I hope the product is better than there customer service (when?) I receive the kit.

Sent my PayPal on 2/11/07. No confirmation, order number or email.
Sent email after a week and received response that 4300K bulb was backordered 3 weeks. Sent email for update yesterday. NO REPLY.

Times up! Sending email now requesting that my money be returned.
Will advise.

I have received no response to emails sent over the last few days. Their voice mailbox message indicates it's full, so I'm unable to leave voice messages. My most recent email requested that they cancel my order and refund my $205. to my PayPal account.
Not happy. Is it time to bash them yet?

Finally got in touch with them by phone today. Wei was apologetic about the lack of response and indicated that the kits should be available next week sometime. I chose to get a refund which he promptly sent to my PayPal account.

Guys, Sorry about the problem. I have been out of the country on vacation and just got an e-mail from Wei and he assures me that all orders will be filled and is sorry for the delay. From what I understand there was a delay from the supplier, and Wei was also on vacation and the person who was suppose to take care of things was completely laxed in replying to e-mails etc.

Smitty and Chris I'm sorry about this problem and I also apologize for the inconvenience. But he did assure me that all outstanding orders will be filled.

Pat...You have nothing to be sorry for. You came up with a deal and put it together. I appreciate all your effort. A bump in the road is not your fault.

Smitty... Thanks I appreciate you saying that. I guess I'm to much of a perfectionist and expect things I've set up run smoothly. But we all know thats not how life is.

Believe me I will not hesitate to set up another group buy if I find something I think the rest of the board might be interested in.:)

Thanks again,

Pat,
If I am not too late, I am interested in the HID group purchase. My application will be for the low beam of my '05. The '05 low beam is different from the earlier models. Do you happen to know the bulb size for the '05? I understand the 4300 provides very good down-the-road throw and is a good choice.

4300K is the best temperature you can get, so go for it!;)

Wayne, offer expired 3-1-07,:( but I would e-mail them CONTACT@FASHTEK.COM and see if they will give you the same deal. Just tell them this is the BMWLT.COM group buy and see what he says.:)

I know that Wei was out of the country for awhile and was also waiting for his supplier to refill his stock and is behind filling orders, so he may do it as a goodwill gesture. If not the price on the web site is still pretty good.http://www.fashtek.com $89.00 for the unit.;)

I contacted Fash Tek through their Customer Service e-mail address contact@fashtek.com to see if the group buy price was still good. The return message indicated that they would honor the arrangement Pat made until the end of the month. Using Pay-Pal, I ordered my 4300 H-7 today.

Great news.

My '05 has HID low, seriously considering HID for the high as well. Anyone have a reason why not to use HID on high?

TIA

TIA Tony, I would recommend that you also add some halogen lights slaved to the high beam simply because it takes 2-3 seconds before the HID high beam reaches its full illumination. During that lag time your low beam is weak, and if you have to flash to get someone's attention you need the additional lights for instant illumination. Just my $.02

Thank you, Gilles. I will be installing my Motolights on the '05, mounted on calipers, once I get a replacement for the one that cratered in the wreck. I have some PIAA 1100x from the '00 as well. Not sure where I will mount these since the '05 has the high beam lamp in the opening where I had the PIAAs.

Another option is to get the under the mirrors mounts that Raffy sells... That is where I have my PIAAs slaved to the high beam.

Tony.. you saw mine.. the PIAA's fit nicely under the "high beam" housing... just a bit further back .. they mount to the sides...if you have the "brackets"

Got in on this group buy late, (Mar 8th) but Wei honored my request. He advised that he shipped mine out on Tues (Mar 20th), got it on Thurs. Installed it that night. Simple plug and play except for drilling the hole in the dust cover. Info from this site was extremely helpful. Wow what a difference riding at night. Thanks to you Pat for setting this up!

I received a notification of a FedEx ground shipment from Maryland. It didn't say who sent it. Guessing that it's my HID from Gtec. Should be here today, or tomorrow to confirm.

Anyone else receive their HID's yet and, if so, were they as advertised?

Got mine a while back and got installed Sunday before going to see Wild Hogs again. It kinda washes out my motolights, but I can see those road signs way down the road. It is still blue light at 4700k but bright. From what I can tell it installs just like the Qlit ones. The only bad part I can see is they come with white cable ties, not the black ones.
