I've been thinking about replacing the stock Moto bulbs with the 55 watts and wondered if they made a difference? I have the low beam HID and it's on all of the time. Moto lights are on during the day too.

-- Bulbs/Globes are the way we went. Only 35 Watts, but due to the color stand out very well in the day time. Too many cars with headlights on nowadays. Replacements are a little harder to find than white, but are available.

There is definitely a difference between MotoLight's 35W and 50W (not 55) lamps. Their website also states that there are 72W lamps available commercially, but not from them. I switched to the 50W lamps almost 2 years ago and won't be going back to the 35 watters. When I installed my MotoLights on the GT, I did install a 35W lamp into one of them just to compare. It was definitely less bright than the 50W side by a considerable margin.

I concur with Joe.
Hey Joe, you notice the Motolights get dirtier on the GT? Did a RTE last week in some spitting rain with wet pavement all the way. The glass to the Motolight's was scummed over badly when I got there. Never got that bad on the LT.

Hey Joe, you notice the Motolights get dirtier on the GT?Now that you mention it...yes, I have noticed that. I'm guessing it has everything to do with wheel speed. ;)

They mention a different light pattern on their web site for the 55 watt bulb. I think 12 degrees as opposed to 8 on the 35 watt. What is the pattern on your 50 watt? Where did you get the replacement bulb?

My 50W lamps are 8° lamps. 12° lamps would be too annoying to oncoming traffic. I got my replacement lamps from Mr. & Mrs. MotoLight of course. :) Most retailers like Home Depot only carry the 12° lamps. :(
