My 2610 is about 2 years old now and the screen seems to be wearing and maybe delaminating.

The reply from Garmin support... $226 or so "flat rate rework".

Might as well run it till it smokes.

That was my first sorta "negative" experience with Garmin... oh well.

Do yourself a favor & call them, I think you might just be surprised.

I had the same failure with my two year old 2610 this past summer. Garmin replaced it free of charge with a refurbished unit that looked brand new! If you are experiencing the "fogging" of the screen, this is a well known issue with the 2610 and I'm certain from my experience and that of others, that Garmin will stand behind the unit.

I don't know if this would be the same for the 2610 as it is for the Nav II, but:
the Nav II with the BMW label has a 2 year factory warrantee,
I also had some trouble getting through to Garmin at first,
however on my second try I talked with tech support and they gave me a repair number
(It was about a week out of warrantee by then)
and in about ten days after they received my unit,
there it was at my front door, a brand new in the box Nav II
(with all of the accesories and software) I'm impressed,
like others have already said: call them.
