I am taking the GPS to Superbowl. Can I run the unit through security at airport. Would xray machine damage unit or software cards. Please advise.

Thanks

Never thought about it. I've run mine through several times and no issues. I have never heard of X-rays doing anything to electronic equipment.

I took my 2610 to California with no problems. I did carry it on in a bag. I don't think you should pack it in a check in bag, it may not be there when you arrive.

We went to Vegas last year and rented a bike for a nice ride. Took the Garmin with us in carry on bag and had no issues.

On a side note...we powered it up and held the unit close to the window...Talk about a nice "max speed" number! I think it was something like 480 mph. And 32,000 ft elevation!
