Did you read the actual declaration? I think it is very commendable that finally a municipality stood up and said: "This is our way of life. If you move here we are not going to change"
What I find interesting though is that immediately the Muslim community feels offended. The only thing that comes to mind here: "If the shoe fits ..." I just hope someone higher up the food chain would have the balls to stand up and tell everyone that doesn't like the fact that this is our way of life that nobody is required to live here.

Andy, now I'm worried! We have no such declaration in my neck of the woods. Well, we must just hate the fairer sex.

Our own country should make an about face and do the same thing. I do believe that the constitution grants the unalienable rights of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" to all citizens. I believe that that includes women. If you want to live here, adapt to our way of life. If you don't like it, go back to where you came from and stop bitchin'. If it's so great there, why are you here?
Oh, and by the way, let's grow some balls and pressure our legislators to declare English our national language. I'm really sick of the bi-lingual crap. I am still amazed when I get my local adult ed flyer and see a course titled "English as a Second Language". What's wrong with this picture?
