Can anyone provide any information on either one of these products: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/permatex1.php or http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=19&Product_ID=330. I have yet to buy a product that will allow the rain to blow off at normal speeds and don't want to ruin the windscreen. Lowering it causes a lot of water to reach the passenger.

I know that the Permatex product doesn't do much to repel rain other than to make it bead up like wax does. We used to use it on our aircraft windows but it really didn't do any better than plain alcolhol and water.
The other product I've never heard of. There is a coating that we apply to the G V and G 550 windshields for rain repellant (no windshield wipers on them) I'll look and see exactly what it is and if it can be used on plexiglass.

I think the issue here is finding something that does not effect the laminated coating on the windshield. Both of these products may work well on acrylic or polycarbonate windshields but damage to the coating is what you want to avoid. Does anyone know what the coating is ?

I don't. But if his W/S still has the coating, pretty much anything he puts on it is gong to affect the coating, except possibly wax.
